The Perigon in Miami Beach Completes First Hydrostatic Concrete Slab Pour

May 27, 2025

Construction on The Perigon, a 73-unit ultra-luxury condominium on two acres of prime Mid-Beach beachfront, hit a major milestone with its inaugural hydrostatic concrete slab pour. The nine-hour continuous operation delivered 520 cubic yards of concrete, reinforced by 60 tons of structural steel, and required 60 truckloads of material to flow seamlessly into the tower’s foundation. Developers Mast Capital and Starwood Capital have slated the building for completion in 2027, marking it as one of Miami Beach’s most anticipated residential projects.

As the inaugural Miami Beach residential endeavor by the globally acclaimed architecture firm OMA, led by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Rem Koolhaas, The Perigon’s distinctive diamond-shaped tower will house 73 expansive residences with panoramic views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Creek. Positioned at 5333 Collins Avenue, the development occupies a tranquil beachfront stretch between the Intracoastal Waterway and the open sea, offering a rare blend of exclusivity and privacy.

Residents will enjoy nearly 40,000 square feet of curated indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, designed to elevate every aspect of coastal living. Highlights include a private oceanfront restaurant and hidden speakeasy by Michelin-starred chef Shaun Hergatt, who will oversee all culinary operations on-site. Complementing this are an oceanfront pool with cabanas, a serene wellness spa featuring steam and treatment rooms, a private salon, and a panoramic fitness center.

Additional lifestyle amenities encompass a children’s playroom, screening room, wine cellar, and guest suites, all anchored by a striking double-height lobby lounge. To ensure unparalleled service, The Perigon will offer 24-hour security, valet, house car, and dedicated lifestyle concierge and residential butler services, as well as pool and beach attendants and in-residence dining.

This milestone not only underscores the project’s engineering feats but also signals steady progress toward realizing Koolhaas’s vision for a new architectural icon in Miami Beach. As construction advances, The Perigon continues to set a benchmark for luxury oceanfront living in South Florida.
